Fees and Insurance

Private Pay:
  • My fee is $185 for a 55-minute for either an individual session and couples session.
  • I am a private pay practice. This means I accept checks, cash, Venmo, and  credit card. (Note, there is a  small service fee for credit cards.
  • Payment is received at the beginning or end of each of session unless otherwise arranged.

Insurance:
I am limited in insurance  payment options. I am not an "In-Network" provider, but an "Out-of-Network" provider.
Before setting an appointment with any therapist find out if your insurance will cover counseling services by calling or visiting your insurance company's website.

Ask your Provider:
  • Does my insurance cover Out-of-Network Providers? (If "yes," continue to question 2.)
  • How much does my insurance cover, and how much is my deductible?
  • How many sessions per year does my plan cover?

Consider this before using your insurance:
Privacy control and permanent medical diagnoses are just a few reasons I am hesitant to accept insurances, especially in-network .  Here are some other reason:

  •  Insurance companies limit and monitor the number of sessions a client is able to have.
  • Insurance companies can dictate how a therapist is able to work with a client.
  •  Insurance companies will require a medical diagnosis be made which becomes a permanent part of your medical record.  This can make it hard to be accepted for your choice of Life Insurance.
  • Finally,  your confidentiality is also weakened. Insurance companies have access to all clinical notes which get passed through a number of different case workers, and records can be requested upon demand.

I hope this information helps you with your decision.
