My Education
I didn't always know what I wanted to do. It was in a Human Behavior course in my undergraduate work when a light went on and it has never dimmed. I pursued my undergraduate degree in psychology, then graduate school earning a Master's in Marriage and Family Counseling. In 1997, I decided to further my education in a Doctoral Program to deepen and broaden my knowledge in the work I love doing.
I received my Doctorate Degree in Integral Psychology and Psychotherapy in 2001 from The Union Institute and University. I continued training under the supervision of author, presenter and researcher Dr. Michael D. Yapko for seven years, developing intervention strategies specific to the treatment of depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety. I worked and studied Interpersonal Neurobiology with Dr. Dan Siegel, author of The Developing Mind, The Mindful Brain, Parenting from the inside Out, and Mindsight from 2009-2011 in a seminar group. In 2011 my book (as seen on my pages here) was published. I remain active in my professional development, attend supervision group with colleagues, and attend educational enrichment on an ongoing basis.
